Welcome

The 21st Conference on Applied Statistics in Ireland, CASI 2001, will be held at the Dundrum House Hotel, Dundrum,  Cashel, Co Tipperary, from Wednesday 16th May to Friday 18th May 2001, under the auspices of the Irish Statistical Association.  The Conference has become the main forum in Ireland for methodological development in Statistics and has gained a reputation for its hospitality over the years. This year, the conference is hosted for the first time by National University of Ireland Maynooth, Department of Mathematics.

Call for Papers

Contributed papers (for oral and poster presentations) are sought in all areas of statistics and data analysis.Titles should be submitted by 31st March 2001.  Papers from new researchers and graduate students are particularly welcome, and a prize will be awarded for the best poster by a graduate student.  See the contributions page for submission details.

Note regarding Footh and Mouth disease

As you may know, many events in Ireland were cancelled over the last month, due to Foot and Mouth disease precautions. The Irish government expert group recently issued recommendations regarding FMD. Specifically, conferences were rated as Category 1 events (low risk) and could go ahead, as long as certain safeguards were observed. We would ask that all CASI 2001 attendees observed the government guidelines. This is particularly relevant to those who are from FMD infected areas or who have been in contact with susceptible species.
