Note regarding Footh and Mouth disease As you may know, many events in Ireland were cancelled over the last
month, due to Foot and Mouth disease precautions. The Irish government
expert group recently issued recommendations regarding FMD. Specifically,
conferences were rated as Category 1 events (low risk) and could go ahead,
as long as certain safeguards were observed. We would ask that all CASI
2001 attendees observed the government guidelines. This is particularly
relevant to those who are from FMD infected areas or who have been in contact
with susceptible species. See the Department
of Agriculture website and in particular the March
22 press release for more information.
